The idea of an exchange is to provid...Interesting. <br />The idea of an exchange is to provide a platform for a market place with as little information assymetry as possible. Another objective is to provide depth so that price discovery is better. The objectives certainly do not include day trading which is an artificial means of increasing volumes.<br />Day trading is for the traders and brokers and not for the holders of shares. Markets have started losing sight of all their objectives along the way.<br />1. They have becomes places for a few with more information to make profits at the cost of unsuspecting few.<br />2. In cases like this there is no question of price discovery as the prices are changing too fast.<br />3.
